The key action is English, of the simplest design: instead of a moving hopper, there is a hopper fixed in the key. Therefore, repeated striking of the hammer against the string does not require complete release of the key. The dampers are raised with the left hand by a lever. The case is veneered with mahogany, mounted on a 4-legged underframe.
